Caroline Amelia Saumarez was born on 9 September 1839.1 She was the daughter of John St. Vincent Saumarez, 3rd Baron de Saumarez and Caroline Esther Rhodes.1 She married Sir George Ives Irby, 4th Baron Boston, son of Sir George Irby, 3rd Baron Boston and Rachel Ives Drake, on 20 July 1861 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England.1,2 She died on 20 December 1927 at age 88.3
Caroline Amelia Saumarez usually went by her middle name of Amelia.4 From 20 July 1861, her married name became Irby.1 As a result of her marriage, Caroline Amelia Saumarez was styled as Baroness Boston on 20 July 1861.
