     Lewis Hay Irving Bell was born on 23 October 1878.1 He was the son of Robert Craigie Bell and Isabella Moubray Irving.1 He died on 25 June 1924 at age 45, unmarried.1
     He was a physician and medical officer for the Madras and South Mahratta Railway at India.1 In 1900 he played rugby for Scotland.1
     In 1904 he again played rugby for Scotland.1
