     Elizabeth Mary Theodora Hughes was the daughter of Sir Robert Heywood Hughes, 12th Bt..¹ She married Sir James Kennedy Best-Shaw, 9th Bt., son of Sir Charles John Monson Shaw, 8th Bt. and Elizabeth Louisa Whatman Best Bosanquet, on 28 March 1921. She died on 5 July 1986.¹
     From 28 March 1921, her married name became Best-Shaw.¹
