Captain Charles Shaw was born on 18 August 1785.2 He was the son of Sir John Gregory Shaw, 5th Bt. and Hon. Theodosia Margaret Monson.1 He married Frances Anne Hawley, daughter of Sir Henry Hawley, 1st Bt., on 13 April 1822.2 He died on 2 May 1829 at age 43.1
