     Robert Borthwick was the son of William Borthwick, 2nd of Soltray.1 He died after 1576, without issue.1
     Robert Borthwick was an 'officer sumtyme in the chancellorie.1' He lived at Treeburnford, Scotland.1

     Catherine Borthwick is the daughter of Sir William Borthwick, 2nd Lord Borthwick and unknown wife (?).1 She married William Cunningham, 4th Earl of Glencairn, son of Cuthbert Cunningham, 3rd Earl of Glencairn, before 10 July 1509.1
     From before 10 July 1509, her married name became Cunningham.1
