     Lewis Michael Aubert Irby was educated at Lancing College, Lancing, Sussex, England.1 He graduated from Hertford College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1908 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps.1
