Hugh Huntly was born probably illegitimately on 6 January 1796 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1,2 He was the son of General Hon. Charles FitzRoy.1 He married Susan Elizabeth Catharina Ferreira on 26 December 1818.2 He died on 9 April 1829 at age 33 at Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa.1,2
