     Sir Ralph Barrrett MacNaghten Blois, 9th Bt. was educated at Wellington College, Berkshire, England.³ He succeeded to the title of 9th Baronet Blois, of Grundisburgh and Cockfield Hall, co. Suffolk [E., 1686] on 31 December 1888.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Scots Guards.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Suffolk.² He gained the rank of Captain in 1900 in the service of the Royal Guards Reserve Regiment.⁴ He held the office of High Sheriff of Suffolk in 1905.²

     Charles Godfrey Blois was born on 27 December 1867.¹ He was the son of Sir John Ralph Blois, 8th Bt. and Eliza Ellen Chapman.¹ He died on 19 December 1900 at age 32, unmarried.¹

     Major Eardley Steuart Brooke was born on 3 July 1869.¹ He was the son of Sir John Ralph Blois, 8th Bt. and Eliza Ellen Chapman.¹ He married Violet Mary Magdalene Sproat, daughter of Major Thomas Sproat, on 6 July 1916.¹ He died on 13 December 1955 at age 86.¹
     Major Eardley Steuart Brooke was baptised with the name of Eardley Steuart Blois.¹ He was decorated with the Territorial Decoration (T.D.).¹ He gained the rank of Major in the service of the 1st Company, London Yeomanry.¹ On 23 February 1931 his name was legally changed to Eardley Steuart Brooke by Royal Licence.¹

     Violet Mary Magdalene Sproat was the daughter of Major Thomas Sproat.¹ She married Major Eardley Steuart Brooke, son of Sir John Ralph Blois, 8th Bt. and Eliza Ellen Chapman, on 6 July 1916.¹ She died on 15 September 1945.¹
     From 6 July 1916, her married name became Brooke.¹

     Thomas Eardley Brooke was born on 27 June 1918.¹ He was the son of Major Eardley Steuart Brooke and Violet Mary Magdalene Sproat.¹ He married Joy Mary Lewis, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Robert Stedman Lewis, on 25 June 1948.¹ He died in 1986.¹
