     Richard Theodore Hughes Ryland was born on 12 February 1871 at Waterford, County Waterford, Ireland.1 He was the son of Theodore Ryland and Mary Anne Hughes.1 He married Emily Jane Fetherstonhaugh, daughter of Stephen Radcliffe Fetherstonhaugh and Jane Boyce, on 15 August 1899 at St. Stephen's Church, Upper Mount Street, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 He died on 3 December 1958 at age 87.1 He was buried at Mt. Jerome Cemetery, Harold's Cross, County Dublin, Ireland.1
     Richard Theodore Hughes Ryland was a practising Barrister-at-Law.2 He lived at Sea Lawn, Sutton, County Dublin, Ireland.2
