     Auberon Thomas Herbert, 9th Baron Lucas of Crudwell was born on 25 May 1876.1 He was the son of Hon. Auberon Edward William Molyneux Herbert and Lady Florence Amabell Cowper.1 He died on 3 November 1916 at age 40, killed in action, shot down behind enemy lines, unmarried.1
     He was educated at Bedford Grammar School, Bedford, Bedfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902, as a war correspondant, and was wounded.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baron Lucas of Crudwell, co. Wilts [E., 1663] on 19 July 1905.2 He succeeded as the 5th Lord Dingwall, of co. Ross [S., 1609] on 19 July 1905.2 He held the office of Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for War between 1907 and 1908.1 He held the office of Under-Secretary of State for War between 1908 and 1911.1 He held the office of Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies in 1911.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1912.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Hampshire Yeomanry.1 He held the office of President of the Board of Agriculture between 1914 and 1915.1 He gained the rank of Flight Commander in the Royal Flying Corps.1

     Rebecca Vogds is the daughter of Johann Vogds and Anna Stubbemann.1 She married Dr. Franz Baring, son of Johann Baring and Anna Hilderbrand, on 25 September 1688 at Bremen, GermanyG.
     From 25 September 1688, her married name became Baring.1
