     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.1

     Alicia Elizabeth Sheridan was born in January 1753.2 She was the daughter of Thomas Sheridan and Frances Chamberlayne.1,2 She married Joseph Le Fanu, son of Guillaume Philippe Le Fanu and Henriette Raboteau de Puygibaud, on 11 October 1781.2 She died on 4 September 1817 at age 64.2
     From 11 October 1781, her married name became Le Fanu.2 She was a playwright.2 She wrote the book Sons of Erin, a play performed in London in 1812.2
