     Garden William Duff, 9th of Hatton was born on 10 June 1814.1 He was the son of Garden Duff, 8th of Hatton and Louisa Dunbar.1 He married, firstly, Douglas Isabella Maria Urquhart, daughter of Beauchamp Colclough Urquhat of Meldrum and Blyth, on 1 June 1850.2 He married, secondly, Jean Cook on 14 October 1862.1 He died on 17 September 1886 at age 72 at Harrogate, London, England.1 He was also reported to have died on 17 September 1866.2
     Garden William Duff, 9th of Hatton lived at Hatton, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.3

     Douglas Isabella Maria Urquhart was the daughter of Beauchamp Colclough Urquhat of Meldrum and Blyth.2 She married Garden William Duff, 9th of Hatton, son of Garden Duff, 8th of Hatton and Louisa Dunbar, on 1 June 1850.3 She died on 19 June 1861.1
     From 1 June 1850, her married name became Duff.1
