     Thomas Edward Ravenshaw was born on 1 July 1827.1 He was the son of John Hurdis Ravenshaw and Rose Melley Thuillier.1 He married Mary Susannah Symonds, daughter of Alexander Symonds, in 1850. He died on 4 February 1914 at age 86.1
