     Maria Thorp was born on 7 June 1791.1 She was the daughter of Robert William Disney Thorp and Ann Catherine Grant.1 She married General Sir Alexander Leith of Freefield and Glenkindie, son of Alexander Leith of Freefield and Glenkindie and Mary Elizabeth Gordon, on 13 February 1816.1 She died on 2 August 1834 at age 43.1
