     Sir Robert Burnett of Leys, 5th Bt. was the son of Sir Alexander Burnett of Leys, 4th Bt. and Helen Burnett.1 He died in 1759, unmarried.1
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Burnett, of Leys, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1626] in 1758.1

     He lived at Criggie, ScotlandG.1

     Sir Thomas Burnett of Leys, 6th Bt. was the son of William Burnett and Jean Burnett.1 He married Catherine Ramsay, daughter of Charles Ramsay and Catherine Mill, before 1755.1 He died in May 1783.1
     He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Burnett, of Leys, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1626] in 1759.1

     Captain James Burnett was the son of William Burnett and Jean Burnett.1 He married, firstly, Anne Purves, daughter of Sir William Purves of that Ilk.1 He married, secondly, Harriet Anne Leigh, daughter of Sir Egerton Leigh, 1st Bt. and Mary Bremar, in 1797.2 He died in 1805, without issue.1,2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Marines.1

     Harriet Anne Leigh was born on 1 February 1766.2 She is the daughter of Sir Egerton Leigh, 1st Bt. and Mary Bremar.1,3 She married Captain James Burnett, son of William Burnett and Jean Burnett, in 1797.2
     From 1797, her married name became Burnett.2

     Sir Egerton Leigh, 1st Bt. was born on 11 October 1733.2 He was the son of Peter Leigh and Elizabeth Latus.1 He married Mary Bremar, daughter of Francis Bremar, in 1756.1 He died on 15 September 1781 at age 47 at London, EnglandG.2
     He held the office of Member of the Council [South Carolina].1 He held the office of Surveyor-General [South Carolina].1 He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, EnglandG.2 He held the office of Attorney-General [South Carolina] in 1765.1 He was created 1st Baronet Leigh, of South Carolina, America [Great Britain] on 19 September 1772.1
