     Thomas Fowell Buxton was born on 29 August 1822.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton, 1st Bt. and Hannah Gurney.2 He married Rachel Jane Gurney, daughter of Samuel Gurney, on 4 February 1845.1 He died on 27 January 1908 at age 85.1
     Thomas Fowell Buxton graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hertfordshire.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Hertfordshire in 1878.1 He lived at Easneye, Ware, Hertfordshire, England.1 He lived at Upton House, Cromer, Norfolk, England.1
