     Vivian Gurney Pelly was born on 5 June 1881.1 He was the son of John Gurney Richard Pelly and Jane Gurney Leatham.2 He married, firstly, Dorothy Penrose Sewell, daughter of William Henry Sewell, on 22 June 1907.1 He and Dorothy Penrose Sewell were divorced.1 He married, secondly, Hilda Victoria Cole, daughter of Henry John Cole, on 7 September 1946.1 He died on 1 December 1949 at age 68.1
