     Sara Clegg Hope was born on 30 June 1832 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England.1 She was the daughter of Samuel Hope and Rebekah Bateman.1 She married Dr. Charles Coates, son of William Henry Coates and Sarah Shipton Bullman, on 6 May 1856 at Bolton Abbey.1 She died on 10 May 1863 at age 30 at 10 Circus, Bath, Somerset, England.1
      From 6 May 1856, her married name became Coates.1

     He was a banker at Liverpool, Lancashire, England.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.1
