     Captain John Byron was born on 7 February 1756.1 He was the son of Admiral Hon. John Byron and Sophia Trevannion.2 He married, firstly, Amelia Darcy, Baroness Darcy (de Knayth), daughter of Robert Darcy, 4th Earl of Holderness and Mary Doublet, on 1 June 1779 at London, England.1 He married, secondly, Catherine Gordon, daughter of George Gordon and Catherine Innes, on 12 May 1785.1 He died on 2 August 1791 at age 35, perhaps by suicide.1
     Captain John Byron also went by the nick-name of 'Mad Jack'.1 He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Guards.1

     Robert Darcy, 4th Earl of Holderness was born on 17 May 1718. He was the son of Robert Darcy, 3rd Earl of Holderness and Lady Frederica Susanna Schomberg. He married Mary Doublet, daughter of Francis Doublet and Constantia Van-der-Beck, on 29 October 1743. He died on 16 May 1778 at age 59 at Syon Hill, London, England.
     Robert Darcy, 4th Earl of Holderness gained the title of 4th Earl of Holderness.

     Elizabeth Mary Chandos-Pole was the daughter of Sacheverell Chandos-Pole and Mary Ware.2,3 She married Admiral George Anson Byron, 7th Baron Byron of Rochdale, son of Captain George Anson Byron and Charlotte Henrietta Dallas, on 18 March 1816.1 She died on 20 August 1873 at Rectory, Kirkby Mallory, Leicestershire, England.3 She was buried at Kirkby Mallory, Leicestershire, England.3 Her will (dated 8 April 1868) was probated on 25 September 1873, at under £5,000.3
     Her married name became Byron. As a result of her marriage, Elizabeth Mary Chandos-Pole was styled as Baroness Byron of Rochdale on 19 April 1824.
