     Marie de Mariategui, Duchess of Pomar was born in 1830.3 She was the daughter of Senor Don José de Mariategui.2 She married, firstly, General Count unknown of Medina Pomar before 1872.1 She married, secondly, Sir James Sinclair, 14th Earl of Caithness, son of Sir Alexander Campbell Sinclair, 13th Earl of Caithness and Frances Harriet Leigh, on 6 March 1872 at Windsor Street, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.4 She died on 3 November 1895 at 124 Avenue de Wagram, Paris, France.3 She was buried on 26 November 1895 at Holyrood House Chapel, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.3
     From before 1872, her married name became Medina Pomar.1 As a result of her marriage, Marie de Mariategui, Duchess of Pomar was styled as Countess of Caithness on 6 March 1872. From 6 March 1872, her married name became Sinclair.1 She was created 1st Duchess of Pomar [Papal States] in 1879, by HH Leo XIII.1

     Hon. William Leigh Canning Sinclair was the son of Sir Alexander Campbell Sinclair, 13th Earl of Caithness and Frances Harriet Leigh.2 He died on 3 January 1834, young.1

     Hon. Alexander Eric George Sinclair was born on 20 May 1827.1 He was the son of Sir Alexander Campbell Sinclair, 13th Earl of Caithness and Frances Harriet Leigh.2 He died on 21 August 1857 at age 30, unmarried.1
     Hon. Alexander Eric George Sinclair gained the rank of officer in the service of the 91st Regiment.1
