Sir James Campbell of Auchinbreck, 5th Bt. was born circa 1679.3 He was the son of Sir Duncan Campbell of Auchinbreck, 4th Bt. and Lady Henrietta Lindsay.2 He married, firstly, Janet MacLeod, daughter of Ian 'Breac' Macleod of Macleod, 18th Chief and Florence Macdonald.4 He married, secondly, Susan Campbell, daughter of Sir Archibald Campbell of Calder.4 He married, thirdly, Margaret Campbell, daughter of unknown Campbell of Carradale.4 He died on 14 October 1756 at Lochgair, Argyllshire, Scotland.3
