William Mackintosh, 13th of Mackintosh was the son of Lachlan Mackintosh of Gellovie and Catherine Grant of Freuchie.2 He married Isabel Macnevan, daughter of unknown Macnevan.3 He died on 22 May 1515 at Inverness, Inverness-shire, Scotland, murdered in bed by John, his 2nd cousin, without legitimate issue.3
He was Captain of the Clan during Ferquhard's long captivity and repelled the Clan Cameron and Clan MacGregor, but the Clan was unable finally to quell the Cameron insurrection until 1506 in 1497.3 In 1502 he succeeded to Gallovie and obtained the Barony of Dunachton from Alexander, 3rd Earl of Huntly on his marriage.3 He held the position of 13th Chief of Clan Mackintosh in 1514.4 He held the position of 14th Chief of Clan Chattan in 1514.1

Sir Ewen Cameron of Lochiel, 17th Chief of Clan Cameron was born in February 1629.1 He was the son of John Cameron and Margaret Campbell.2 He married, thirdly, Jean Barclay, daughter of Robert Barclay, 2nd of Urie.1 He married, secondly, Isabel Maclean, daughter of Sir Lachlan Maclean of Duart, 1st Bt..1 He married, firstly, Mary Macdonald, daughter of Sir Donald Macdonald, 8th of Sleat, 1st Bt. and Janet Mackenzie.1 He died in 1719.1
He fought in the English Civil War, as a Royalist.1 He held the position of 17th Chief of Clan Cameron circa 1647.1 In 1658 while fighting against a detachment of English troops under General Monck at Achdalieu on the shores of Loch Eil, he killed one of them by biting his throat out.1 He was invested as a Knight in 1681.1 He fought in the Battle of Killiecrankie on 27 July 1689, he fought for the Jacobite Viscount Dundee at his victory over King William III’s troops.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3
