John Peter William Campbell was born on 18 March 1824.1 He was the son of Sir Duncan Campbell of Barcaldine, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Dreghorn Dennistoun.2 He married, firstly, Frances Charlotte Begbie, daughter of Alfred William Begbie and Margaret Anna Grant, on 14 October 1847.1 He married, secondly, Louisa Campbell, daughter of Alexander Campbell of Monzie and Christina Cameron, on 10 August 1875.3 He died on 30 October 1901 at age 77.3
