     James Grant was the son of Sir Ludovic Grant of Dalvey, 6th Bt. and Margaret Innes.1,2 He married Harriet Montagu, daughter of John Montagu, 5th Earl of Sandwich, on 26 December 1790.3 He died on 4 February 1816.3
     He lived at Goldington Grange, Watford, Hertfordshire, England.3 He lived at 12 Welbeck Street, London, England.3 He was in the Honourable East India Company Service.1 He lived at Vache Park, Chalfont St. Giles, Buckinghamshire, England.3

     Sir Ludovic Grant of Dalvey, 6th Bt. was the son of Sir Patrick Grant of Dalvey, 4th Bt. and Lydia Mackintosh.2 He married Margaret Innes, daughter of Sir James Innes of Balvenie and Ortoun, 5th Bt. and Margaret Fraser, on 4 July 1741.3 He died on 17 September 1790.4
     He succeeded to the title of 6th Baronet Grant, of Dalvey [N.S., 1688] on 1 August 1772.4
