     James Cardwell was born on 29 April 1779.1 He was the son of Richard Cardwell and Jane Hodson.1 He died on 31 May 1855 at age 76, unmarried.1

     Reverend Edward Cardwell was born on 3 August 1787.1 He was the son of Richard Cardwell and Jane Hodson.1 He married Cecilia Feildien, daughter of Henry Feildien, on 5 May 1829.1 He died on 23 May 1861 at age 73.1
     Reverend Edward Cardwell was Camden Professor of Ancient History at Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.).1
