     Mary Meredith is the daughter of unknown Meredith.1 She married, firstly, Laurence Shirley, 4th Earl Ferrers, son of Hon. Laurence Shirley and Anne Clarges, on 16 September 1752.1 She and Laurence Shirley, 4th Earl Ferrers were divorced on 20 June 1758 due to his cruelty.1 She married, secondly, Lord Frederick Campbell, son of Hon. John Campbell and Elizabeth Elphinstone, after 1758.1
     As a result of her marriage, Mary Meredith was styled as Countess Ferrers on 16 September 1752. From 16 September 1752, her married name became Shirley.1 From after 1758, her married name became Campbell.1
