     Robert Cary was born on 2 December 1871.1 He is the son of William Cary and Isabella Ann Shilson.2 He married Alice Day, daughter of Frederick Day, in 1897.1 He died on 4 April 1958 at age 86.1
     Robert Cary lived at Hampstead, London, England.1

     Sir Robert Archibald Cary, 1st Bt. was born on 25 May 1898.1 He was the son of Robert Cary and Alice Day.2 He married Hon. Rosamond Mary Scarsdale, daughter of Colonel Hon. Alfred Nathaniel Curzon, on 30 April 1924.1 He died in 1979.1
     Sir Robert Archibald Cary, 1st Bt. was educated at Ardingly College, Haywards Heath, Sussex, England.1 He was invested as a Knight in 1915.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of officer in the service of the 4th Dragoon Guards.1 He fought in the First World War between 1916 and 1918.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Eccles between 1935 and 1945.1 He gained the rank of officer in the service of the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards.1 He fought in the Second World War in 1939.1 He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary between 1939 and 1942, to the Civil Lords of Admiralty.1 He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary between 1942 and 1945, to Secretary of India and Burma.1 He held the office of Assistant Government Whip between 1944 and 1945.1 He held the office of Junior Lord of the Treasury between May 1945 and July 1945.1 He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary between 1951 and 1955, to Lord Privy Seal and Leader of the House of Commons.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Withington between 1951 and 1955.1 He was created 1st Baronet Carey, of Withington, co. Lancaster [U.K.] on 12 June 1955.1
