     George Nathaniel Curzon was born on 5 October 1826. He was the son of Reverend Hon. Alfred Curzon and Sophia Holden. He died on 17 June 1855 at age 28, killed by a fall from his horse.

     Alfred Nathaniel Holden Curzon, 4th Baron Scarsdale was born on 12 July 1831. He was the son of Reverend Hon. Alfred Curzon and Sophia Holden. He married Blanche Senhouse, daughter of Joseph Pocklington Senhouse, on 3 July 1856. He died on 23 March 1916 at age 84.
     Alfred Nathaniel Holden Curzon, 4th Baron Scarsdale gained the title of 4th Baron Scarsdale.

     Admiral Sir Charles Middleton, 1st Baron Barham was born on 14 October 1726 at Leith, Scotland.1 He was the son of Robert Middleton and Helen Dundas.1 He married Margaret Gambier, daughter of James Gambier and Mary Mead, on 21 December 1761 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Covent Garden, London, England.2 He died on 17 June 1813 at age 86 at Barham Court, Kent, England, without male issue.2 His will was probated in August 1813, leaving £10,000 to each of his 14 grandchildren.2
     Admiral Sir Charles Middleton, 1st Baron Barham gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1745 in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He gained the rank of Post Captain on 22 May 1758.1 He was Captain of the H.M.S. Emerald in 1761 where he distinguished himself in the West Indies.1 He held the office of Comptroller of the Navy between 1778 and 1790.1 He was created 1st Baronet Middleton, of Barham Court and Teston, Kent [Great Britain] on 23 October 1781, with remainder to his son-in-law, Gerard Noel Edwardes.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Rochester between 1784 and 1790.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1787.1 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral in 1793.1 He held the office of a Lord of the Admiralty between 1794 and 1795.1 He gained the rank of Admiral of the Blue in 1795.1 He held the office of First Lord of the Admiralty between 30 April 1805 and 1806.1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 1 May 1805.2 He was created 1st Baron Barham, of Barham Court and Teston, Kent [U.K.] on 1 May 1805, with remainder to his daughter.2 He gained the rank of Admiral of the Red on 9 November 1805.2
     The Times reported in 1910 that "as a naval administrator and reformer he has ahd few equals in the whole history of the Navy; as a naval thinker, the inspirer of thought in others and the confidential sharer of the best thoughts of his best contemporaries, he stands not less indisputably in the front rank; and that on the one occasion which called his strategic faculties into play he displayed a sureness of insight and a rapidity of decision which were not unworthy of Nelson himself."2

     Margaret Gambier was the daughter of James Gambier and Mary Mead.1 She married Admiral Sir Charles Middleton, 1st Baron Barham, son of Robert Middleton and Helen Dundas, on 21 December 1761 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Covent Garden, London, England.1 She died on 10 October 1792 at Teston, Kent, England.1
     Her married name became Middleton.
     According to Gibbs, she was "an accomplished woman, and the friend of Samuel Johnson and Hannah More. She was one of the first to actively oppose the slave trade."1
