     Sir James Timmins Chance, 1st Bt. was born on 22 March 1814.1 He was the son of William Chance and Phoebe Timmins.2 He married Elizabeth Ferguson, daughter of George Ferguson, on 26 June 1845.1 He died on 6 January 1902 at age 87.1
     Sir James Timmins Chance, 1st Bt. graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1838 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1848 with a Master of Arts (M.A.), ad eundem.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1868.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Worcestershire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Staffordshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 He was created 1st Baronet Chance, of Grand Avenue, Hove, co. Sussex [U.K.] on 19 June 1900.1

     Sir William Chance, 2nd Bt. was born on 2 July 1853.1 He was the son of Sir James Timmins Chance, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Ferguson.2 He married Julia Charlotte Strachey, daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry Strachey, on 15 October 1884.1 He died on 9 April 1935 at age 81, without issue.1
     Sir William Chance, 2nd Bt. graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was admitted to Inner Temple entitled to practice as a barrister.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Chance, of Grand Avenue, Hove, co. Sussex [U.K., 1900] on 6 January 1902.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Surrey in 1911.1
