Major Hon. Richard Walter Chetwynd was born on 27 November 1859.1 He was the son of Richard Walter Chetwynd, 7th Viscount Chetwynd of Bearhaven and Harriet Johanna Campbell.2 He married Florence Mary Naylor-Leyland, daughter of Tom Naylor-Leyland and Mary Anne Scarisbrick, on 8 January 1889 at St. Paul's Church, Knightsbridge, London, England.3 He and Florence Mary Naylor-Leyland were divorced in 1900.1 He died on 6 March 1908 at age 48 at 25 Elvaston Place, Pimlico, London, England.3 He was buried at Brookwood, Surrey, England.3
