     Catherine Brydges is the daughter of John Brydges, Marquess of Carnarvon and Catherine Tollemache.1 She married, firstly, William Berkely Lyon before 1753.1 She married, secondly, Edwin Francis Stanhope, son of Charles Stanhope and Cecilia Stede, on 9 August 1753.1
     From before 1753, her married name became Lyon.1 From 9 August 1753, her married name became Stanhope.1
