     Sir Richard Pepys was born on 2 July 1589 at Bunstead, Essex, EnglandG.2 He was the son of John Pepys and Elizabeth Bendish.3 He married, secondly, Mary Gosnold, daughter of unknown Gosnold.1 He married, firstly, Judith Cutte, daughter of Sir William Cutte, on 14 August 1620.1 He died on 2 January 1659 at age 69.1
     He was a practising Serjeant-at-Law.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sudbury in 1640.1 He held the office of Baron of the Exchequer in May 1654.1 He held the office of Chief Justice of Ireland in September 1654.1 He had three other sons and three daughters.1
