     Elizabeth Jane Oakes was the daughter of Reverend James Oakes and Elizabeth Tyrell.2,3 She married Hon. Sir Henry Leslie, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Lucas Pepys, 1st Bt. and Jane Elizabeth Leslie, Countess of Rothes, on 15 February 1816.1 She died on 12 December 1816.1
     From 15 February 1816, her married name became Pepys.

     Samuel Pepys was born on 23 February 1632.1 He was the son of John Pepys and Margaret (?).2 He married Elizabeth de St. Michel, daughter of Alexander Merchant de St. Michel, on 10 October 1655.1 He died on 26 May 1703 at age 71, without issue.1
     Samuel Pepys was educated at St. Paul's School, London, England.1 He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He wrote the book Pepys's Diary.1 He lived at Brampton, Huntingdonshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Castle Rising in 1673.1 He held the office of Secretary of the Admiralty in 1684.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Harwich in 1685.1
