Lt.-Col. W. D. Macdonald was the son of Captain Hon. Panmure Macdonald.1 He married Emma Anne Elizabeth Lindsay, daughter of Colin Lindsay and Emma Watson, on 30 August 1860.1 He died in 1862.1
