Sir Philip John William Miles, 2nd Bt. was born on 2 September 1825.1 He was the son of Sir William Miles, 1st Bt. and Catherine Gordon.1 He married Frances Elizabeth Roche, daughter of Sir David Roche, 1st Bt. and Frances Vandeleur, on 17 October 1848.1 He died on 5 June 1888 at age 62.1

Sir David Roche, 1st Bt. was born on 19 January 1791.3 He was the son of David Roche and Frances Maunsell.2 He married, firstly, Frances Vandeleur, daughter of Lt.-Col. John Ormsby Vandeleur and Rosetta Beattie, on 1 February 1825.3 He married, secondly, Cecilia Caroline Grady, daughter of Henry Deane Grady, on 10 June 1844.3 He died on 8 April 1865 at age 74.3
