     Charles William Fane was born on 2 February 1904.1 He was the son of Colonel William Vere Reeve King-Fane and Helen Beatrice Newman.1,2 He married, firstly, Pauline Margaret Blackie, daughter of Reverend Ernest Morell Blackie and Caroline Sophia Campbell Stewart, on 15 September 1931.2 He and Pauline Margaret Blackie were divorced.2 He married, secondly, Pamela Mary Synge, daughter of Robert Millington Synge and Christabel Etrenne Liddell, on 29 July 1966.1 He died on 15 March 1976 at age 72.1
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He lived in 1972 at 23 Milner Street, London, EnglandG.3
