     Robert Crichton, 4th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar was born between 1515 and 1520. He was the son of Robert Crichton, 3rd Lord Crichton of Sanquhar and Elizabeth Murray.1 He married Elizabeth Campbell, daughter of John Campbell, before 1 December 1534.1 He died before 7 January 1535/36, without issue.1
     Robert Crichton, 4th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar succeeded to the title of 4th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar [S., 1488] between 1516 and 1520.1

     William Crichton, 5th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar was the son of Robert Crichton, 3rd Lord Crichton of Sanquhar and Elizabeth Murray.1 He married Elizabeth Fleming, daughter of Malcolm Fleming, 3rd Lord Fleming, before 24 May 1540.1 He was murdered on 11 June 1550 at the house of Governor Arran, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, by Robert Sempill, Master of Sempill, stabbed to death in a quarrel by the 3rd Lord Semphill.1
     William Crichton, 5th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar succeeded to the title of 5th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar [S., 1488] circa January 1535/36.1

     Robert Crichton, 6th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar was the son of William Crichton, 5th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar and Elizabeth Fleming. He married Margaret Cuninghame, daughter of John Cuninghame of Caprington.1 He died in 1561, without issue.1
     Robert Crichton, 6th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar succeeded to the title of 6th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar [S., 1488] on 11 June 1550.1
