     Roger Grierson, 8th of Lag was born circa 1535 at Cullean, Ayrshire, ScotlandG.2 He was the son of Sir John Grierson, 6th of Lag and Egidia Geils Kennedy.1 He married, firstly, Helen Douglas, daughter of Sir James Douglas, 7th of Drumlanrig and Christian Montgomerie, on 21 April 1566 at Drumlanrig Castle, Drumlanrig, ScotlandG.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Chalmers after 1578.1 He died in August 1593 at Dunscore, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.1,3
     He lived at Lag, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.

     Edward Crichton, 7th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar was the son of William Crichton, 5th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar and Elizabeth Fleming.1 He married Margaret Douglas, daughter of Sir James Douglas, 7th of Drumlanrig and Christian Montgomerie, circa 4 June 1561.1 He died on 23 May 1569.1
     He succeeded as the 7th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar [S., 1488] in 1561.1

     William Graham, 5th Earl of Menteith was the son of John Graham, 4th Earl of Menteith and Marion Seton.1 He married Margaret Douglas, daughter of Sir James Douglas, 7th of Drumlanrig and Christian Montgomerie, circa 16 May 1571.1 He died in September 1578.1
     He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Menteith [S., 1427] in January 1564/65.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1577/78.1
