     John Patterson Cobbold was born on 12 July 1831.1 He was the son of John Chevallier Cobbold and Lucy Patterson.2 He married Adela Harriette Dupuis, daughter of Reverend John George Dupuis, on 20 April 1858.1 He died on 9 December 1875 at age 44.1
     John Patterson Cobbold held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ipswich.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1

     Thomas Clement Cobbold was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.1 He was Chargé d'Affaires for Baden-Baden in 1867.1 He was Chargé d'Affaires for Rio de Janiero in 1870.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.).1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ipswich.1 He was Chargé d'Affaires for Lisbon between 1873 and 1875.1
