General Sir Alexander Campbell, 1st Bt.1

     General Sir Alexander Campbell, 1st Bt. was born on 20 August 1760.1 He was the son of John Campbell, 2nd of Achalader.2 He married, firstly, Olympia Elizabeth Morshead, daughter of William Morshead, in 1783.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Anne Pemberton, daughter of Reverend Thomas Pemberton, after 1794.1 He died on 11 December 1824 at age 64.1
     He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).2 He fought in the Siege of Gibraltar.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 4th Division.1 He was invested as a Knight.1 He fought in the Battle of Talavera, where he was severely wounded.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the 80th Regiment.1 He was created 1st Baronet Campbell, of Gartsford, co. Ross [U.K.] on 6 March 1815.1 On 3 July 1821 he received a new patent for his baronetcy extending the limitation to his grandson Alexander and after him to the issue male of his 2nd daughter, Isabella.1

     Olympia Elizabeth Morshead was the daughter of William Morshead.2 She married General Sir Alexander Campbell, 1st Bt., son of John Campbell, 2nd of Achalader, in 1783.1 She died on 24 December 1794.1
      From 1783, her married name became Campbell.1

Lieutenant John Morshead Campbell1

     Lieutenant John Morshead Campbell was the son of General Sir Alexander Campbell, 1st Bt. and Olympia Elizabeth Morshead.2 He died on 23 September 1803 at Assaye, India, killed in action.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Infantry.1 On 23 September 1803 Battle of Assaye.1

Lt.-Col. Allan William Campbell1

     Lt.-Col. Allan William Campbell was the son of General Sir Alexander Campbell, 1st Bt. and Olympia Elizabeth Morshead.2 He died on 28 July 1813 at France, killed in action.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.1 He fought in the Battle of the Pyrenees in July 1813.1

     Thomas Cockburn was born in 1723.2 He was the son of Margaret Rutherford.2 He married Agnes Scott, daughter of John Scott and Marion Baillie.1
     He held the office of Deputy Keeper of the Great Seal of Scotland.1 He lived at Rowchester, Berwickshire, Scotland.1

Isabella Charlotte Campbell1

     Isabella Charlotte Campbell was born on 31 January 1789.2 She was the daughter of General Sir Alexander Campbell, 1st Bt. and Olympia Elizabeth Morshead.3 She married General Sir John Malcolm, son of George Malcolm and Margaret Pasley, on 4 June 1807.1 She died on 26 June 1867 at age 78.1
      From 4 June 1807, her married name became Malcolm.
