Henry Richard Johnstone-Scott was born on 7 March 1830.1 He was the son of Sir John Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, 2nd Bt. and Louisa Augusta Venables-Vernon-Harcourt.2 He married Cressida Elizabeth Selby-Lowndes, daughter of William Selby-Lowndes, on 4 October 1866.1 He died on 29 January 1912 at age 81.1

Sir John Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, 2nd Bt. was born on 28 August 1799.4 He was the son of Sir Richard Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, 1st Bt. and Margaret Scott.2,3 He married Louisa Augusta Venables-Vernon-Harcourt, daughter of Most Rev. and Rt. Hon. Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt and Lady Anne Leveson-Gower, on 14 June 1825.4 He died on 24 February 1869 at age 69.4
