     Vere Egerton Cotton was born on 5 May 1888.1 He was the son of Charles Calveley Cotton and Kate de la Rue.2 He married Elfreda Helen Moore, daughter of William Francis Moore, on 2 February 1922.1 He died on 19 November 1970 at age 82.1
