     Desmond Shane Chichester was born on 7 August 1919.1 He was the son of Shane Randolph Chichester and Madeline Herschel Whately.1 He married Patricia Pleydell-Railston, daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry George Moreton Pleydell-Railston, on 11 August 1951.1 He died on 23 February 2001 at age 81.1
