     Colonel John Bagwell was born in 1751.1 He was the son of William Bagwell and Jane Harper.1 He married Mary Hare, daughter of Richard Hare and Catherine Maylor, in 1774.1 He died in 1816.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Tipperary.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Militia.1 He built Marlfield, Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland, as the family seat.1
