     John Finch, 6th Earl of Winchilsea was born on 24 February 1682/83.1 He was the son of Heneage Finch, 3rd Earl of Winchilsea and Elizabeth Ayres.1 He died on 9 September 1729 at age 46, unmarried.1
     He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Fitzherbert of Eastwell, co. Kent [E., 1660] on 30 September 1726.1 He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Winchilsea [E., 1556] on 30 September 1726.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Finch, of Eastwell, Kent [E., 1611] on 30 September 1726.1 He succeeded as the 6th Viscount of Maidstone [E., 1623] on 30 September 1726.1 On his death, the barony Fitzherbert of Eastwell became extinct.1

     William Finch, Viscount Maidstone was baptised on 20 January 1651/52 at Eastwell, Kent, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Heneage Finch, 3rd Earl of Winchilsea and Lady Mary Seymour.1,2 He married Elizabeth Wyndham, daughter of Thomas Wyndham, before 26 December 1666.2 He died on 28 May 1672 at age 20, killed in action.2
     He was styled as Viscount Maidstone.2 He was educated at Westminster Hospital, Westminster, London, England.2 He was educated at St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.2 He gained the rank of Battle of Sole Bay on 28 May 1672.2

     Heneage Finch, 5th Earl of Winchilsea was born on 3 January 1656/57.1 He was the son of Heneage Finch, 3rd Earl of Winchilsea and Lady Mary Seymour.1 He and Anne Kingsmill obtained a marriage license on 14 May 1684.2 He died on 30 September 1726 at age 69, without issue.3
     He gained the rank of Captain in 1682 in the Coldstream Guards.3 He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1683 with a Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)3 He held the office of Groom of the Bedchamber to King James II between 1683 and 1688.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hythe between 1685 and 1687.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1687.3 In 1689 he resigned his commission and attempted to flee the country to France, but was apprehended, and then set free on bail.3 He was a non-juror and hence never took his seat in the House of Lords.3 He succeeded as the 5th Viscount of Maidstone [E., 1623] on 15 August 1712.3 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Fitzherbert of Eastwell, co.      Thomas Finch, 2nd Earl of Winchilsea was born on 13 June 1578.1 He was the son of Sir Moyle Finch, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Heneage, Countess of Winchilsea.1 He married Cecille Wentworth, daughter of John Wentworth and Cicely Unton, in 1609.1 He died on 4 November 1639 at age 61.1
     He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He was appointed Knight in January 1608/9.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Finch, of Eastwell, Kent [E., 1611] circa 1620.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Winchelsea from 1621 to 1622.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Winchelsea from 1628 to 1629.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount of Maidstone [E., 1623] on 23 March 1633/34.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Winchilsea [E., 1556] on 23 March 1633/34.1

Cecille Wentworth

     Cecille Wentworth was the daughter of John Wentworth and Cicely Unton. She married Thomas Finch, 2nd Earl of Winchilsea, son of Sir Moyle Finch, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Heneage, Countess of Winchilsea, in 1609.1 She died in 1642.1
     Her married name became Finch. After her marriage, Cecille Wentworth was styled as Countess of Winchilsea on 23 March 1633/34.
