     Sir John Philipps, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir Erasmus Philipps, 3rd Bt. and Katherine D'Arcy.2 He married Mary Smith on 12 December 1697.1 He died on 5 January 1736/37.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Pembroke between 1695 and 1702.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Philipps, of Picton Castle [E., 1621] on 18 January 1696/97.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haverfordwest between 1718 and 1722.1

     Sir Erasmus Philipps, 5th Bt. was born in 1699.1 He was the son of Sir John Philipps, 4th Bt. and Mary Smith.2 He died on 7 October 1743, by accidental drowning in the Avon near Bath, unmarried.1
     He was educated at Pembroke College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn.1 He wrote the book An Appeal to Common-sense; or some Considerations offered to restore Publick Credit, published from 1720 to 1721.1 He wrote the book The State of the Nation in respect to her Commerce, Debts, and Money, published 1725.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haverfordwest between 1726 and 1743.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Carmarthenshire in 1727.1 He wrote the book The Creditor's Advocate and Debtor's Friend, published 1731.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Philipps, of Picton Castle [E., 1621] on 5 January 1736/37.1 He wrote the book Essays, published 1751.1
