Thomas Johnston Barton was born in September 1802.3 He is the son of Hugh Barton and Anne Johnston.2 He married Frances Morris, daughter of Edward Morris and Hon. Mary Erskine, on 25 March 1830, (says 25 March 1830 although this date must be incorrect since both the husband and the wife died in the 1860s).3 He died on 4 December 1864 at age 62.3
