Isabella Erskine was the daughter of Henry David Erskine, 10th Earl of Buchan and Agnes Steuart.2 She married, firstly, William Leslie Hamilton in 1770.1 She married, secondly, Reverend John Cuninghame, 15th Earl of Glencairn, son of Maj.-Gen. William Cuninghame, 13th Earl of Glencairn and Elizabeth Maguire, on 23 April 1785.2 She died in 1824, without issue.1
     From 1770, her married name became Hamilton. From 23 April 1785, her married name became Cuninghame.

     John Cuninghame, 11th Earl of Glencairn was the son of William Cuninghame, 9th Earl of Glencairn and Lady Anne Ogilvy.2 He married, firstly, Lady Jean Erskine, daughter of John Erskine, 21st/4th Earl of Mar and Jean Mackenzie, on 5 August 1673.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Napier, daughter of John Napier, before 1695.1 He died on 14 December 1703.1
     He succeeded as the 11th Lord Kilmaurs [S., 1464] on 26 May 1670.1 He succeeded as the 11th Earl of Glencairn [S., 1488] on 26 May 1670.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1689.1
