Alexander Scrymgeour-Wedderburn of Birkhill was the son of David Scrymgeour of Birkhill and Katherine Wedderburn.2 He married Elizabeth Ferguson, daughter of James Ferguson of Pitfour.1 He died in 1811, without issue.1
Alexander Scrymgeour-Wedderburn of Birkhill succeeded to the title of 6th Earl of Dundee [S., 1660], de jure.1 He was baptised with the name of Alexander Scrymgeour.1 He succeeded to the title of 8th Viscount Dudhope [S., 1641] in 1788, de jure.1 On 1788 his name was legally changed to Alexander Scrymgeour-Wedderburn after inheriting the estates of David Wedderburn of Wedderburn.1
