     John Scrymgeour was the son of John Scrymgeour and Jean Makgill.2 He married Magdalene Wedderburn, daughter of Alexander Wedderburn of Kinggenny and Easter Powrie.1 He died in 1698.1
     Seal 1541 also heir of entail under two charters under Gt and 1587.1 He held the office of Hereditary Standard-Bearer of Scotland in 1668.1 He held the office of Constable of Dundee in 1668.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Viscount Dudhope [S., 1641] on 23 June 1668, de jure.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Earl of Dundee [S., 1660] on 23 June 1668, de jure.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Lord Scrimgeour [S., 1641] on 23 June 1668.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Lord Scrimgeour and Innerkeithing [S., 1660] on 23 June 1668.1 He was deprived of his right to succeeded to the estates of Dudhope and to the Viscountcy and Earldom by the influence of the Duke of Lauderdale with King Charles II.1 At Kirkton, Angus, Scotland, (an unknown value).1
